Vinpearl Nha Trang is where Vinpearl started and where it is still biggest. The company opened its first resort on Hon Tre island in 2003 and is headquartered there. Today it has eight hotels in Khanh Hoa province with 6,477 equivalent rooms, 37% of its national total. Four resorts sit on Hon Tre, next to VinWonders Nha Trang and Vinpearl Golf; one is on Hon Tam island; two are city hotels on the Nha Trang seafront; one is in Cam Ranh. The biggest recent change is the brand mix: since Marriott’s 2023 conversion, 49% of Hon Tre’s rooms carry a Marriott flag.

Every Vinpearl hotel in Nha Trang
Equivalent rooms are Vinpearl’s own measure. It does not define them, but they appear to count villas by bedroom: the Marriott resort’s 829 keys are 1,684 equivalent rooms. Where Vietnam’s national accommodation register (VNAT) gives a room count, we show it too.
| Hotel | Location | Brand family | Opened | Equivalent rooms | Rooms in VNAT register |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vinpearl Resort Nha Trang | Hon Tre | Vinpearl | 2003 | 647 | 485 |
| Vinpearl Luxury Nha Trang | Hon Tre | Vinpearl | 2011 | 84 | 84 |

Takeaway: Vinpearl still runs half of Hon Tre’s rooms under its own brand, but in the city and Cam Ranh most of its rooms are Meliá-branded.
The Hon Tre resorts
Vinpearl Resort Nha Trang
The first five-star resort on Hon Tre, completed in 2003 after 18 months of building. Vinpearl positions it for wellness, couples and events. Rooms start at 32 square metres (Deluxe) and 42 square metres (Grand Deluxe), with three-bedroom Tropicana pool villas.
Vinpearl Luxury Nha Trang
An 84-villa resort opened in 2011, Vinpearl’s top tier on the island. Vinpearl says it introduced Vietnam’s first over-water spa.
Vinpearl Resort & Spa Nha Trang Bay
Opened in 2015 and the closest of the resorts to VinWonders. Vinpearl positions it for families, with Coastal Retreat family rooms, executive suites and two- to four-bedroom pool villas. It is the largest Vinpearl-branded resort on the island, with 995 equivalent rooms.
Nha Trang Marriott Resort & Spa, Hon Tre Island
Opened as Vinpearl Golf Land Resort & Villas and reopened as a Marriott in October 2023. It has 829 keys: 403 rooms and suites, plus 426 villas with two to four bedrooms. At reopening, Marriott called it Marriott Bonvoy’s largest hotel in Vietnam. Facilities include a 1.7-kilometre beach, seven pools, two all-day restaurants (Greens and Sands) and six clubhouses with their own kitchens for private events and groups. It was one of three Vinpearl conversions in Marriott’s April 2023 deal.
The city and Cam Ranh hotels
Vinpearl Beachfront Nha Trang
A 2018 city hotel at 78–80 Tran Phu, on the main seafront. The VNAT register lists it as a 895-room condotel, Vinpearl Condotel Beachfront Nha Trang.
Vinpearl Empire Nha Trang, Affiliated by Meliá
Also 2018, at 44–46 Le Thanh Ton. Vinpearl’s annual report calls it Meliá Vinpearl Nha Trang Empire, its website “Vinpearl Empire Nha Trang, Affiliated by Meliá”. With 1,386 equivalent rooms it is Vinpearl’s largest city hotel anywhere in Vietnam. The VNAT register lists 1,221 rooms under its former condotel name.
Meliá Vinpearl Cam Ranh Beach Resort
A 604-room resort on the northern Cam Ranh peninsula, south of Nha Trang, opened in 2017.
Infrastructure and demand
- VinWonders Nha Trang: 50 hectares on Hon Tre. It opened in 2006 as Vinpearl Land Nha Trang.
- Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang: 18 holes, opened in 2011.
- Cable car: the original 3,320-metre sea-crossing line was replaced. The new Doppelmayr system reopened on 26 January 2024, with 120 cabins of 12 seats each and capacity of 5,280 passengers an hour, Báo Khánh Hòa reported.
- Vinpearl Harbour Nha Trang: a commercial and entertainment precinct at the island end, opened the same day. Aquafield Nha Trang, a wellness facility, followed in 2024.
- Performance: Vinpearl’s Nha Trang revenue grew 23% in 2025, its annual report says. TCBS says the Nha Trang cluster’s hotel revenue rose 52% year on year in the second quarter of 2026.
Ownership
All eight hotels appear in Vinpearl’s 2025 annual report as projects owned, managed and operated by Vinpearl. Vinpearl JSC is listed on HOSE and controlled by Vingroup. Branded hotels in the cluster operate under agreements with Marriott International and Meliá Hotels International. Vinpearl’s registered head office and its Nha Trang branch are both on Hon Tre.
What it means for owners and operators
1. Hon Tre is one competitive set, two brand systems
Vinpearl-branded and Marriott-branded resorts now share the island, the cable car and the park. For revenue teams, that means Marriott Bonvoy distribution and Vinpearl’s own packages compete for the same guests. Our view: the Marriott conversion is a test of whether a global brand lifts rate in a self-contained island cluster.
2. The city hotels are the volume play
The two seafront hotels add 2,349 equivalent rooms in central Nha Trang. Independent four- and five-star hotels on Tran Phu compete with them directly, not with the island resorts.
3. Nha Trang demand is recovering fast
A 52% jump in quarterly hotel revenue is a strong signal for the whole market, though it is one quarter and one company. Owners elsewhere in the city should check their own international mix against it before pricing 2027.
4. Watch the brand pipeline
Vinpearl has shown it will convert large resorts to global brands. Owners and operators should treat the remaining Vinpearl-branded resorts on Hon Tre as potential conversion candidates. That is our view, not a company plan.
