Movenpick Living West Hanoi is a 196-key building of hotel rooms, suites and serviced apartments at 21 Duy Tan Street, in the Cau Giay office district of west Hanoi. Ford Thang Long JSC developed and owns it. It opened as Eastin Hotel & Residences Hanoi in 2021 and became Accor’s Mövenpick Living West Hanoi on 1 November 2023. For owners and investors, it is a case study in an early rebrand: the owner swapped a regional brand for a global one only two years after opening, to reach long-stay corporate guests.

Who owns Movenpick Living West Hanoi
The owner is Ford Thang Long Joint Stock Company (Công ty Cổ phần Ford Thăng Long). It was named as the owner when the hotel opened as Eastin in 2021, alongside the operator, Absolute Hotel Services. In February 2025 Thuongmai University signed a cooperation agreement with Ford Thang Long and its Mövenpick hotel, which confirms the company is still behind the property.
Ford Thang Long’s shareholders and the hotel’s financial results are not published, and we have not verified them.
From Eastin to Mövenpick Living
The building was designed by CPG Vietnam. Work began in 2016 and finished in 2019. It opened on 30 October 2021, in the middle of the pandemic, as a four-star Eastin hotel. Eastin is a brand of Absolute Hotel Services, a Bangkok-based group that belongs to Thailand’s listed U City.
Two years later the owner moved it to Accor. From 1 November 2023 it became Mövenpick Living West Hanoi, which Accor’s team and suppliers described at launch as the first Mövenpick Living in Asia. Mövenpick Living is Accor’s apartment-style version of Mövenpick, aimed at longer stays.
Accor executives told VIR in May 2026 that all Accor hotels in Vietnam were then under management contracts and that Mövenpick would stay a managed brand. That points to a management agreement here, but the contract itself is not published.
Long stays in west Hanoi
Duy Tan Street is lined with office towers, and the hotel is about 3 km from the National Convention Center. That makes it a base for corporate guests on long assignments as well as short trips.
Letting agents list the apartments from US$2,000 a month for a 55 sqm junior suite and US$2,200 for a 70 sqm one-bedroom. Japanese-language agents also market it, a sign that Japanese corporate tenants are a target. One agent lists 54 apartment units; Accor does not publish the split between hotel rooms and apartments, so we treat that number as unconfirmed.
West Hanoi’s branded competition is mostly full-service hotels rather than apartments. JW Marriott Hanoi sits next to the convention centre, and Lotte Hotel Hanoi on Lieu Giai serves similar corporate demand. InterContinental Hanoi Westlake is the leisure-led option to the north.
Our view: the hotel’s edge is the apartments. Corporate guests staying for months want a kitchen and space, not a ballroom. The risk is that new branded serviced apartments in Cau Giay and Nam Tu Liem compete on the same rents.
What it means for you
1. Owners of newer regional-brand hotels
A rebrand two years after opening is possible. Ford Thang Long’s move shows owners will pay the cost of a switch to get a global loyalty programme and corporate sales network.
2. Investors
Hanoi wants about 10,000 more upscale rooms by 2030; see our report on Hanoi’s upscale room target. Branded long-stay rooms in office districts are one way to meet that demand with lower event-space costs.
3. Serviced-apartment operators
Monthly rents from US$2,000 set a benchmark for branded studios in Cau Giay. Compare your rates and what is included.
4. Brands
Accor is chasing conversions across Vietnam. Our report on Accor’s 2026 signings covers the wider plan.
