The St. Regis Bali Resort is a 124-key luxury resort on the beach at Nusa Dua, in the gated tourism estate on Bali’s southern tip. It opened in September 2008, is owned by the Indonesian Rajawali group and is run by Marriott under its St. Regis brand. All of its keys are suites, villas or residences. For owners and operators, St. Regis Bali is a reference for the small, all-suite model in a part of Bali dominated by much larger resorts.

Owner and operator
PT Pacific Resorts Buana Indonesia, a subsidiary of PT Rajawali Corpora, owned the resort when it opened, according to the 2008 opening release. Rajawali Property Group, the group’s property arm, still lists The St. Regis Bali Resort in its portfolio. Rajawali is one of Indonesia’s larger private conglomerates.
Marriott runs the resort. Its July 2025 release names one marketing team for “The St. Regis Bali Resort and The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa”, the larger Marriott resort next door. That means the two share at least some commercial functions, which is common for neighbouring hotels run by the same operator. Fees, contract length and the resort’s rate and occupancy are not public.

Our view: St. Regis Bali does not try to win big events. With about a quarter of Apurva’s keys and no standard rooms, it relies on high-spending couples and families who pay for villas and butler service. Marriott Bonvoy’s top members are its main feeder. The W Bali Seminyak covers the other end of Marriott’s Bali luxury range.
Why it matters for Bali
Bali has about 62,000 hotel rooms, and the next 1,700 are all five-star, according to Colliers figures in our Bali luxury pipeline analysis. Most of those are going to Ubud and Canggu. Nusa Dua gets one big new name: a 139-key Waldorf Astoria due in 2027. For St. Regis, that is the closest new rival in its own category.
What it means for you
1. Nusa Dua owners: the Waldorf Astoria is the one to watch
A 139-key Hilton luxury resort in 2027 will go after the same villa guest. Refresh plans and loyalty offers should be in place before it opens.
2. Developers: all-suite resorts need villas to earn
St. Regis Bali shows the all-suite model works when villas with private access, like its lagoon and beach villas, carry the top rates. Plan the villa mix first, not last.
3. Operators: clustering saves cost
Running St. Regis and The Laguna as a pair lets Marriott share sales and marketing. Owners of neighbouring hotels with the same operator should ask how shared costs are split.
4. Investors: Bali luxury is about ownership groups
Many of Nusa Dua’s top resorts are owned by Indonesian groups, such as Rajawali here and the Wings family at Apurva. Local owners hold them long-term, so they rarely change hands.
